Andre Braugher, recognized for his depiction of Captain Raymond Holt for 9 seasons in the adored sitcom ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ which first aired on FOX and concluded on NBC, is being lovingly remembered by Melissa Fumero and the remaining cast. The news of Braugher, aged 61, passing away following a brief illness on Monday, December 11th, was reported by his publicist Jennifer Allen to CNN.
Fumero, acclaimed for her portrayal as Amy Santiago in the police comedy, shared a collection of photos on Instagram, which included a behind-the-scenes moment featuring her and Braugher from the filming of the Season 2 episode “Beach House.”
Recalling Braugher, Fumero expressed, “I will cherish all the guidance you provided. I will treasure all the moments we shared laughter; your laughter was one of the most remarkable laughs to have ever existed.” The actress also conveyed her thoughts, saying, “I truly believed I’d see you again,” while offering her sympathies to Braugher’s wife Ami, his children, and all his acquaintances and loved ones.
“It was an honor to be within your sphere for a period, Sir,” Fumero added, evoking the memorable dynamic between Holt and Amy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
In addition to Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz, celebrated for her portrayal of Rosa Diaz, also honored Braugher with a simple message, “Andre ❤️,” accompanied by a video of Captain Holt commending Rosa for publicly acknowledging her bisexuality on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Terry Crews, recognized for his role as Lieutenant Terry Jeffords, also put up his personal tribute, expressing, “It’s hard to fathom you’re no longer with us. I’m privileged to have crossed paths with you…”
