The Colombian star Karol G is stirring up excitement with her new musical offerings! On June 18, she provided a sneak preview of her latest track “SI ANTES TE HUBIERA CONOCIDO.” The song is scheduled to premiere on June 20 at 5 p.m. PST, and eager fans can pre-order it beforehand.
“SI ANTES TE HUBIERA CONOCIDO 🌺 JUNE 20 🌴🌊☀️,” she announced online. “Pre Save LINK IN BIO 💛.”
While wrapping up the last dates of her highly praised Mañana Será Bonito Tour in Europe, Karol has been peppering her social media with teasers of new music. Earlier in June, she revealed a clip hinting at her upcoming collaboration with Coke Studio. In the teaser, we see her singing a piece as she hangs up items of clothing with the Coca-Cola logo.
On June 16, Karol’s TikTok upload featured her at the same location as the teaser. Additionally, she shared more of the melody where her voice can be heard singing, “¿Que hubiera sido si antes te hubiero conocido? / Seguramente estarías bailando esto conmigo / No como amigos [What if I had met you before? / Surely you’d be dancing to this with me / Not merely as friends].” The snippets and her Instagram revelation suggest the song may have a merengue beat.
In a recent conversation with Vogue España on June 13, Karol G opened up about her songwriting process. “I initiated the composition of my next album around the middle of last year,” she remarked. “As I was presenting Mañana Será Bonito, by June 2023, I began wrapping my mind around the idea of infusing my reflections into my tunes. Since January 2 of this year, after ringing in the new year with my family in Colombia, I flew out to Los Angeles to fully immerse myself in studio workdays.”
Karol G is concluding her Mañana Será Bonito Tour with her upcoming shows this period. Tonight (June 18), she is expected to electrify the audience at The O2 in London, United Kingdom. She will return to that venue the following night (June 19), before heading to the Accor Arena in Paris, France, for her performance on June 22.
