Devotees of Bukimanía, take note: Los Bukis have achieved an additional momentous milestone in their illustrious career. On June 24, it surfaced that the acclaimed Mexican group will be inducted into the esteemed assembly of the Hollywood Walk of Fame come 2025.

“The Walk of Fame once again etches a historic moment! Holding the title of Walk of Fame Selection Committee Chairperson, it renders me thrilled to disclose the distinguished selectees slated for everlasting recognition on the illustrious Walk of Fame for the Class of 2025,” proclaimed the committee’s chairperson Peter Roth in a press release. “Each honoree embodies the exemplary excellence in their respective fields. Both the committee and I look forward with great anticipation to the time when our awardees grace this storied boulevard!”

Celebrated for their distinctive fusion of synth-imbued amorous tunes and hits like “Chiquilla Bonita,” “Acepto Mi Derrota,” and “Como Fui A Enamorarme De Ti,” the iconic group will soon be feted with their very own Hollywood Star, further glorifying the melodies that have perpetuated across generations. Los Bukis are granted a two-year span to schedule their star unveiling festivities following their acclaim.

This honor marks yet another laurel for the band, who presently distinguishes themselves as the inaugural Spanish-language ensemble to boast a Las Vegas Residency. In revealing the residency, Marco Antonio Solís shared with Remezcla: “It elicits profound joy and enthusiasm to embark on this venture for our admirers. It is a considerable honor for us both as Mexicans and for our passionate and evocative music, tendered to our devoted fanbase: La Bukimanía.”

In 2010, Los Bukis’ lead vocalist Solís was individually celebrated with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Now, he is poised to receive a second star with his bandmates. Moreover, non-Latinx luminaries earmarked for the 2025 class include Prince, Jane Fonda, Depeche Mode, and Colin Farrell. Notable personalities like Bill Nye, Green Video, and The B-50s also accentuate the roster of recently revealed inductees.

Prior to this announcement, Jenni Rivera was named as a member of the preceding year’s class. Rivera’s homage on the Walk of Fame is due to unfold this week (June 27). Members of Rivera’s family, inclusive of Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka, and Michael, will participate in the tribute and will posthumously accept the Walk of Fame star in honor of their mother. Additional Latinx celebrities of the 2024 group comprise Marc Anthony and Sheila E.
